What to put in the first message
- What you are building, in a sentence or two — the problem is more useful to me than the feature list.
- Where it stands: nothing yet, a design, or a running system that needs work.
- When you need it, and whether there is a budget shape already.
- For a role: the stack, the team size, and whether it is on site or remote.
What happens next
I read everything myself and reply within a day, including to say no when it is not a fit. If it is, the next step is a short call and a written scope before any code is written.
